Just a few pictures...

In going through my many pictures (I was looking for some specific ones from a crazy Christmas with Grandma), I came across these that were just neat pictures. I love this one of Grandpa holding Carl and Christi. He just looks like such a sweet guy, just like the man that I remember. I love how healthy they both look in the other one. I loved parties with them! Can't you just see Ken looking like that in a few years???

Grandma Nelson Memories

Thanks, Chris for setting this up. I already posted these on my blog, but thought I would share them here, too.

Paint
I saw this article about a woman who painted her entire car with nail polish. I immediately thought of Grandma Nelson. Grandma wouldn't have done this much detail (well, maybe she would have, I don't know!) You see, when Chari lived with grandma, there was a day that Grandma noticed there was rust on Chari's white car. Now, rust, especially on a white car, just doesn't look good. So, what did Grandma do? She painted it. With white nail polish. It looked better than rust.

Grandma liked things white (and sometimes with poka dots, too). She painted gardening tools, scissors, cans. Anything that would look better white, she painted. Unfortunately, I don't have any of her white treasures, but if anyone does, I'd love to share pictures!!!

Holy Honey
I was feeling a bit sick one day and it reminded me of Grandma. As I was laying in bed, I thought "I need some Holy Honey!" This wasn't just any honey you buy in a bear in the store. No, this honey came from the boy scouts in our ward. They harvested it (do you harvest honey?) every year and sold it as their fundraiser. This honey, according to Grandma, would keep you healthy for a loooooong time, and cure ANY ailment. If we were sick, she would always pass us the Holy Honey to make us better.
